I saw the 995 lugamatic at the Mecum auction in Wisconsin yesterday brought $25,500. Wonder why so low, the last 3 that I saw sold for $40,000. They said it was all rebuilt and restored, didn't look to bad in the picture. Larry |

| If Mecum tractor auctions are anything like their car auctions, they won't "sell" the tractor if it doesn't make reserve. They'll strike off the bidding with a "no sale" and advise if anyone's interested, let them know.
If the auctioneer struck it off "SOLD" it was sold to the highest bidder. |

| | Maybe it didn't sell and the auctioneer pulled it as it was getting no bids anywhere near the reserve? It is a common practice. |

| Maybe there are only so many people in this world that would drop $40k on a 995. I see that on ebay where someone will list something rare and it will go nuts. Then, a few weeks later, someone will list another at it will go for a decent price. Then someone will think the market has gotten really hot and list theirs only to see it bring a ho-hum price. |

| Now most collectors looking for these tractors want them original. Several owners have tossed the 2V GM engine and have installed the later DD with the 4V goods. The old GM's are getting a little scarce. That could be one reason for the bargain price. |

| I can see th GM logo cast on the block. This should be the right block for this tractor. |

| | Yep, that's the right engine. I have seen several of these 995's with the wrong air cleaners, rusted and repaired gas tanks, missing the torque converter cooling hardware and even some whining in the finals. These tractors looked pretty good to the folks that were not very familiar with this model. Maybe the auctioneer dropped the hammer too soon? |
