I have a 1936 oliver hart parr 70. After you warm up the engine (which was recently overhauled)and shut if off. the starter will not turn it over again until it gets cooled back down.it is also converted to 12 volt. Could the ignition timing be off??? Would that make it run hotter than normal??? |

| One possibility is that the ring gap on the pistons is too small. As the engine warms the ends of the rings may come into contact in the groove of the piston.A quailty kit or shop should have the specs for ring gap settings. Does the starter try to engage or do nothing. Resistance also builds up in electrical systems as they warm up and a good cleaning on all of the contact points may help. |

| I have the exact thing happening on my 39 70. Anyone know the recommended engine break in procedure or how long it takes? |
