With all the discussions about engine swaps, I got to wondering if anyone has put a V8 diesel of any kind into a 1650 or larger? I have seen some of the red (706) ones with a 444 IH engine and some JD with Cummins V8's. Other ideas?

I have seen a 5.7 diesel GM motor, like used in Buicks & Olds. cars, in a 1750 Oliver. Not sure if the man still has it.Picked the tractor out of a groove. Enigine had a bad crank. Block was good. Wanted a cheap running slow ground speed for his tiling operation. jps

I have a solid 6.9L diesel cornbinder V-8 sitting in a very worn out Ford truck. I have been wondering how that would look in one of my 1650 or 1850 tubs.

I saw a 1950 Oliver with a V-6-71 detroit in it one time. Now that was a loud detroit. Really good looking tractor though.

There was a guy years back here in NY that had a V6-71 in a super 99 Ollie...They did a really nice job on the install it looked factory. They pulled it a lot and it did well in open antique class.

We had an Oliver '2255' at our tractor pull with a 3208 Caterpillar V8 in it. Looked good.
