It also has a cable and bracket that attaches to the l axl. I was wondering if this is only for a Super 55 or 550? Can this be mounted on a row crop? [Reply]   [No Email]
oliver fan 10-30-2009 08:53:07 69.130.173.157 125670 Report to Moderator	Re: 355 Sickle Mower in reply to Eric-Ia, 10-30-2009 06:52:04   Eric, Oliver's first attempt at building 3 point hitch mowers were the model 344 for the Super 44 and the 355 for the super 55 tractors. About the only differances between the two were the mounting brackets. The cable should be hooked up to a short chain and then the other end should pass through 3 pulleys and finally hook to the left 3 point stabilizer bracket. With it hooked this way, when you raised the mower with the 3 point, the outer end of the cutter bar would raise higher than the drive end. The arm on the right side hooks up to the 3 point arm and is part of the break-away that lets the cutter bar swing back when you hit something. I don't think you could get a 355 to work on a row crop tractor. Oliver didn't build these mowers very long. They were replaced by the model 356, and was advertised for tractors with "standard 3 point hitches" as well as the "Oliver 440, 550, and Oliver models with power tracton hitch".   [Reply]   [No Email]
