I need some plates for a mule-type one row corn planter that I am getting ready to use in Honduras, but I am not sure what brand it is. I believe it may be a Black Hawk, but I haven"t been able to find any pictures to identify it, so I was wondering if someone would have a picture that they could send me or some other way that I can identify it. I have one plate that is marked F349 and apears to be a corn plate, but would also like to get several plates for beans.

O. K. David, I can probably help you plates. I have a one row unit out of one of the old ag departments and I have corn plates. Also there was a man in the neighborhood that sold seed corn. His claim to selling a lot of seed corn was "I furnish the plates" His boy still has all the plates or did a year ago. So I am going to send you both an e-mail. Tim, you can send me the bulletin and then I have something to go by. David, then I can tell you plates I can come up with. J.

F349 is a Black Hawk planter seed plate number. It's suggested kind of seed is Thick Broom Corn or Popcorn.

Thanks for the reply. Could you by chance tell me what number plate I need to plant Purple-hull peas and also for a red bean about 1/2 the size of a red kidney bean? Do you know wnere I might find a manual for this one-row mule pulled planter, and is there anything like a list of plates that were made and their uses. Thanks

The information I gave you on the seed plate comes from a Black Hawk Planter Seed Plate manual. It is 15 pages in all. Any manuals I have for planters are for two or more rows. If you have a high speed internet connection I could scan and send you the pages from the plate manual.

If you don't mind scaning that, I would sure appreciate it. We don't have high speed conectoin here at the house, but what we have is pretty dependable so I think it will be fine. Thanks a lot.
