| | The one thing they'll NEVER do is send anyone to pick up the item- they don't want it, they just want your money. These things break down into two general schemes: If you have an item to sell, they'll send you a rubber check for more than the amount, you're to cash it and money-gram them the difference for "shipping". If they're advertising an item to sell, they ask you to send some authentic sounding outfit like Yahoo Finance the money, then they'll ship the item, and if you don't like it, they'll come get it and have the finance outfit refund the money. Both mention "shipping", but in the first instance they realize that you'll be mildly annoyed at being cheated out of your money and would have them arrested; in the second, there's nothing to ship- the item is just pictures they hijacked from somewhere else on the web. |
