12 volt battery and Hold down ?

Is there a certain # 12 volt battery, that can be used with old 6 volt battery base and holddowns, or is there there a hold down for 12 volt battery, using current bases?
I am really interested in a 1945 2N, but the question may also be applicable to other series.

google for BCI battery chart. get the dimensions for a grp 1 then check over in the passanger car bats section for one that will shoehorn in..

i forget the interstate number i use in my bat trays on used to be 6v machines.. and i'm at work. maybee someone else can post one they use. if not.. when i get home i will look and post.

Since it won"t be original with a 12 Volt anyhow, a tarp strap is pretty universal!

I didn't like the rubber tarp strap, so on the 2N, I used an original 6 volt battery hold down and cut out 5/8" lengthwise and 1/8" width, on the center portion, so it would fit over the side lips of the battery and therefore, not touch the terminals, which are on the edge of the battery. I used the original steel rods, to clamp it down.
Very neat looking job.
Sorry I couldn't post a picture, as somehow my camera has lost its memory, Plus the "color cops", wouldn't like the red color.
The battery also has edges at the bottom, to accept the "bottom clamp hold down", which I probably could have went to a junk yard, and purchased some, and drilled and tapped, the bolt hole, in the base.

I have been thinking about a hold down for 3 years. In the mean time, it has never moved. I guess someday I should at least try a tarp strap.

Charles, I put a two part plastic hold down on my 8N.
Bolted the back side a bit loosely to the top of the battery
tray with a 1/4-20 bolt and Nyloc nut so it wouldn't fall out.
On the front side I used the J bolt as it was intended.
Once you take the J bolt loose the two halves come apart and
you can remove the battery easily.
Might not work as well on a 9N/2N through the hood.
It looks like this one although I bought mine locally.

Thanks Royse,
The link is now in my favorites. Many other Ford people will probably also be thankful, and maybe such as this site will start carrying them.
Just got the hood back on 2N yesterday, so I could snowplow driveway and path to outdoor furnace. Its all drifted shut already. Radiator sprung a leak at mounting bolt, after leveling dirt from barn teardown.

FYI Woodham Equipment in Wayland, was only place that I could find and they did a beautiful job on radiators. He use to be with Stamms.

You can get the same thing at Pep Boys.

The adjustable two piece plastic thing works well but to make things a whole lot easier, before installing, set the two halves over your battery at the correct position then pick them up and hold them steady and wind some electrical tape around the middle of them to keep them from moving.

Since it's such close quarters with your two hands also in there it makes it a whole lot easier with the two part clamp nice and steady with the tape on it.

For me it was actually easier BECAUSE it came apart in the middle.
I only have to loosen the one J bolt. I never take the bolt out of
the back side and never remove the back half of the hold down.
I just tuck the front half under the back half and tighten the J bolt.
