Need help intstalling a 12 volt alternator on a 8n ford

Ok, what would you like help with?
Mounting, wiring, parts required?
For wiring, try Googling wiring diagrams by JMOR.
He's a forum member who has made some really nice pictograms
that show exactly how to wire one up and make it work correctly.
As for parts, we need to know if it's a front mount distributor or a
side mount distributor to help 100%, but original starter, solenoid,
key switch, push button switch, points and condenser are fine.
Let us know what you have, and someone will help.

If you are not electrically inclined then buy the one wire 12 volt conversion kit from this site. It will contain everything you need plus instructions.

I have a 49 8N and purchased your 12 volt conversion kit and installed it a few years ago but it has always been difficult to start. Recently a friend looked at it for me and had some questions i do not know the answer to. Does the 12 volt coil need a resister and if so what ohms is it. My friend by passed something under the dash strait to the battery and it started instantly. thanks for the help.
