i never rely on rusty or painted sheetmetal as a ground.

all my lamps have a seperate ground wire run to a solid chassis ground

Why do the "bare ends" at the attachment points corrode off sometimes, sorta like the #4 ground rods at the power poles? Better make continuity check once an awhile. ACIDS in RAINS.

Paint the wires after attaching grounds. Usually dem bare copper parts. ZINC compounds!

I run a separate ground wire all the way back to the battery ground terminal. That way there's no messing around with trying to find ground, which you are discovering can be an irksome process.

I agree I always run a ground wire on older tractors price of wire better than the headaches.

RJ........you do know paint is an "insulator" don't you??? I would "fish" a #16 ga insulated stranded wire thru the headlite feed tube and ground it on the castiron block. Actually, 18ga "zip" wire from hardware store would problably be eazier to fish and cut to length. Radiator is NOT a ground as it is rubber mounted on bottom and slanted neck tube. ........grounded Dell

Is that the same as putting the RED lead of the Radio Shak ohmneter on the "spinner" in the front of the props, while the BLACK lead is on the refueling ground rod at the tarmack on the fuel depots, fer instance, SUN OIL's (SUNOCO) stations worldwide, and the reading is 0 "ZERO".

Well, paint after assembly if it ain't.

John,PA Gettn' refreshm,ent testing ready!
