Where would I find the model/serial number off of a Briggs 16hp I/C motor? I have looked, but have not found a plate or impression. The motor is attached to a Lincoln Weldanpower 225. |

| Found it. I had pulled the carburetor and taken it to them. Anyhow, it was stamped into the shield next to the plug. Had to wire brush it up good to read it.

| I need the model number for the carburetor. It needs a rebuild badly and I have sent it in to a local Briggs shop for repair, and they need to order the right kit. |

If the Briggs shop doesn't know or can't find the model # are you sure you want them to rebuild your carb? If they're stamped, and there's a little rust/oil/grease/dirt, they may have to scratch around a little to find them. |

| So you are not seeing it at either of the two locations the red arrows point to in the illustration? |

| | It will be stamped into the sheet metal "cowling" around the flywheel. Is the engine a flat twin?
