Don"t have a second gear. Took off top plate, drained oil and everything seems to be there. Could it be an adjustment. Trying to avoid splitting the tractor. |

| I think I figured it out..will see tomorrow. Looks like bottom of shift lever is worn out and not pushing the shift plate forward enough. I have another shift lever that I'm gonna try... |

| when I put the lever into 2nd it is not engaging. I pulled the cover again and took a picture...here it is. When I rock the tractor it rolls like it is in neutral. |

| | dude.. do some observation. if you are shifting it and the gear is onviously not engaging, take a look at 'what' should be 'where' and solve for 'why not' look for a slipped fork on a rail.. might be a set screw or something.. |

| I put gear shift lever into "2" and I can roll the tractor -- like it is in neutral. Take off the cover and look and everything looks OK. I can take a picture. |

| So I put the cover back on and when I put it in all the gears except 2nd it works fine. When I look at the gears including the two big ones on top they look fine. I put a magnet down onto the sump -- no metal. I drained all the fluid and everything looks OK. |

| You should be able to figure out which shift fork is moving when you move lever to "2". Then determine which gear that fork should move. Closely inspect both gear and fork. If the problem is not obvious to you, get someone more experienced to evaluate the situation. |

| | thru the internet I won't be able to see your crashbox. shift it into 2nd and look, then to neutral. see if the box looks any different to you. :) |
