The fellow I purchased a '47 2N from had installed an inline filter. When he sold it to me, he told me the tractor lacked power. I brought it home and pulled the inline filter out. Power problem solved. I also suggest you recheck your firing order 1-2-4-3 and your reset your gap on the points. They easily slip when you tighten the breaker plate screws. They should be 0.015". Thank you all. now I have to get the original generator from the shop in a day or to and I need it replace the starter gear and hints to this I know not to spin it out [Reply]  [No Email]

Pull the air cleaner to carb tube off and see how it runs. If it runs ok that seems to be is just that and you need to clean the air cleaner. Sounds like it is running rich and if the air cleaner is clogged it will cause it to run way to rich [Reply]  [No Email]
