Page 38 paragraph 50 in the FO-4 talks about the coonomy range and the economizer jet. The main jet in Gary's picture is the main jet as is the one on fig fo49 item 1. paragraph 53 deals with adjustment. |

| | Thanks Gary. I have some confusion about the needle on the bottom of the carb as shown in the diagram. My carb has simply a plug in the hole. Will this work? Additionally, there is no description in the FO4 for making an adjustment on this. Sorry about being so dense. |

You are NOT being dence.....that pic. is confusing to someone that does not use the main jet adjusting screw, like shown in the picture.
The main jet fuel adj. screw on your "N" series M/S carb, is on the front top of your carb, and NOT located as in the pic.
Think of the plug in it's place as an emergency clean out, and was put there as an entrance to the bottom fuel passage, and main jet area.
Your carb bowl will prob. never be accessed through that plug.!!!
Adapt this carb cut-away pic. to the M/S carb pic. that I posted previously!!!
This prob. is what your M/S carb looks like!!!.......:
Hope this straightens that out for you!!!

| That diagram GB sent you is a schematic. The needle in your carb is not on the bottom like that photo. A pipe plug in the bottom of your carb is normal. |
