Mr. Natalie 01-27-2013 17:51:10 70.112.62.198 Report to Moderator	I am in the process rebuilding a '47 8N, "Natalie". I have rebuilt the engine and in the process one of the exhaust manifold studs needed replacing. Go figure the one between #3 and #4, I think this stud is cursed. I put the radiator back on yesterday and noticed that there was some coolant on the floor this morning. It appears I have a leak from that notorious stud. Any ideas on how to fix this? I did put blue thread gunk on there when I put it in, possibly not tight enough? Also the freeze plug next to the drain plug in the block also has a small leak. Seeing as how I had the engine cleaned at a machine shop I did not install this. How would one go about repairing this? Thanks [Reply]   [No Email]

If you do real nice you can hardly notice the plug is even there once painted up. My local machine shop told me to do that years ago and I haven't had a problem yet. If you don't care about looks just let it go they will rust up and seal themselves after a while   [Reply]  [No Email]

I usually put plugs in with a very thin smear of permatex or copper coat or even red rtv. just a thin smear mind you.. don't want anything breaking off and plugging a cooling passage..   [Reply]  [No Email]
