 I bored a little but not to much.Do you suggest buying new or bore a little more?I have the new piston type on the way from this site. |

New cylinder is ready to install - You may need to clearance the outer edge of the cylinder for the lift linkage. Some need it, some don't. Easily accomplished with a die grinder or abrasive disk grinder, whatever you have available.

| Mine looked that bad after honing. I reused it and it works pretty darn good. The blade touches the ground after 6 hours - that's good enough for me. If it chews up the oring and needs it again in a few years I will put In a new one. It shouldn't as I have bigger tractors to work with - that is just the yard tractor. |

| | i honed my 8n to get rid of the scratches.. went a lil out of spec.. but a nice fat NH oring sealed fine.. as toh said.. if you go new it will be more $ but perfect. your call. |

| I put mine together with some scratches. It works good. So far. Can it will it chew up the Oring? I don't know. |

| | I had the same dilemma and had the same gouges in the bore. These run the full length of the cylinder stroke and the o-ring on the piston won't seal correctly. I bit the bullet and bought a new cylinder and I have been happy. I would suggest that you get a new one as well and enjoy the better performing lift after you are done. |
