Well if your pretty sure it did not have that light on till just since the problem has started good chance the alternator is on the way out. Or the fan belt is loose so yes bringing the RPM up will get it charging due to the belt grabbing better at higher RPM.

| Ya but you know just because he says it is does not mean it is. Seen more then one time where they said ya tight and then go and push on the fan and find I can more the fan with out turning the engine over so that is to loose
|
