Forklift at work draining battery..From memory(dangerous) I think it is a GM 134cc..going to disconnect the neg. cable and check with meter between the cable and battery post. Will disconnect alt., lights, etc and try to find the short(if draw is detected)...One thing did notice is, when first started, the alt. light is on and meter only shows slightly over 12 volts until you rev it slightly then it starts showing 13 V then about 14.3 at half throttle--I guess it is one of those rev to excite alternators--Until recently, don"t remember alt. light coming on and staying on till u rev it up-once reved up the alt light goes off and stays off--any thoughts? |

| Well if your pretty sure it did not have that light on till just since the problem has started good chance the alternator is on the way out. Or the fan belt is loose so yes bringing the RPM up will get it charging due to the belt grabbing better at higher RPM. |

| Ya but you know just because he says it is does not mean it is. Seen more then one time where they said ya tight and then go and push on the fan and find I can more the fan with out turning the engine over so that is to loose |

| | if it has an idiot lamp.. it should not need revving to excite. I'd pull the alt charge wire while off and see if there is a draw. IE.. put a test lamp inline with it when off. if lights up.. trio is likely got a shorted segment.. |

| | a center 0 meter inline with the alt will also show something.. though the test lamp is easier.. if it is, and I assume it is, a 3 wire delco alt.. make sur ethe #2 is getting disconnected at kety off. also do the test lamp in between #1 and bat and #2 and bat, in case part of the reg has went TU.. |
