Is it fairly easy to repair an alternator vs replacing it? If replacing would the delco 10 si for a 70 something Chevy have the correct pulley on it or will it need to be changed?

You want an alternator for say a 1980 Chev pick up no power anything no AC. It was somewhere in the mid 70s the 10si came out so going with the 1980 puts it 100% right. As for the pulley many times I use the pulley off a generator in place of the one that comes on the 10si

Quoting Removed, click Modern View to see

The correct pulley is # 98NAA5825... I would not settle for anything else..

I am not sue what YT has the discrimination sounds like a universal 5/8X3/4 UNIVERSAL P.O.S. if so their is no such animal that will perform well using a 5/8" belt..

Rlpintx The pulley will have to be changed to a wider 5/8 pulley.
