to the original poster,
normal gas trouble shooting,
dirt, restriction, sticking needle valve, etc
(engine should restart on the fuel left in the carb bowl after a normal shutdown)
as far as the inline, I use them under certain circumstances all the time.
ie, repaired carb inlet, cracked, stripped etc
repaired carb body
home brewing a shutoff when no $ for a store run
I stay away from the paper ones, as they don't seem to like water.
I get mine for my WheelHorse tractors, so I usually have a few laying around.
They just have a screen in them, just like an N.
very easy to take out and clean under normal maintenance
on a tractor with a carb I know better than to touch...or a touchy sediment bowl.
most say up to 15 horse, but I've never had an issue with them,
even on engines bigger than an N |
