Topic: Flywheel bolts and washer ?

Getting ready to mount my motor back on and i can't find the flywheel washer that goes behind the bolts.
Really cant remember if it had one when i tore it down, is this one piece washer nessary or can i use regular flat washers?

| | A flat washer can't work as good as the original four hole retainer. With the retainer the bolts can dig into the softer metal than the flywheel and be a lot less likely to work loose. A flat washer can turn on the harder flywheel metal and be more likely to come loose. Locktite might do the trick but I've never used in on flywheel bolts?????????? Zane

It's a flat ring/washer, no tabs. Not necessary but nice to have the right part.

It is a retainer - has tabs to bend over against the heads on teh bolts to prevent them from coming loose. Loctitie thread locker is a good replacement.
