I just wanted to stop by and say hello to our "friends" on this tractor board, and let everyone know that my Dad Pete (kypete) passed away on Wednesday evening, October 31st, 2012. He was 81 years old. We enjoyed restoring our 1952 Ford 8N together around 10 years ago. (Looking back through the archives, the tractor was finished and running again on Thanksgiving morning of 2002.) It was the tractor I grew up with and started driving at an early age, and then he gave to me. Dad also enjoyed this discussion forum. He was a great man and a great dad, and he will truly be missed. He was a licensed airplane pilot, founder of the local OK Tire store in our hometown, previously worked in real estate, and also worked as a security officer until just a few weeks ago. He was a member of a Baptist church, enjoyed woodworking, fishing, and spending time on the small farm where I grew up in KY. We were both really glad to have found this tractor board, especially when we began that restoration on the 8N, all those years ago. It's hard to believe it has been 10 years since we restored it. The restoration is still holding up pretty nicely. It was my first time restoring a tractor, and on this particular restoration my dad and I worked a lot together on making it all come together. Those are some very special memories to me. Since that time, I have restored a 1948 8N, and fixed up a worker 2N. Those were fun to do, but not nearly as special to me as the '52. Thanks again to all who make this board a great place to come together and share old iron stories and advice. There definately seems to be a common bond for those who enjoy these old tractors, and there are a lot of good people who share the appreciation of them. Thanks, Scott |

| No matter how old you are you are never old enough to be an orphan. My father has been gone over 30 years and I still miss talking to him. Any time I ride his 8N I remember a lot of good times. |

| Great memories you can cherish forever, and brought back those of my late father and I doing our 48 8N. He did the body work and was so impressed at how rugged the construction was, and I did the 12v conversion and rewiring. It's been nearly 20 years since he passed, but the thoughts and memories are fresh as yesterday. |

| | You have my sincere sympathy, Scott. Fortunately, you have many fond memories to cherish forever. Your father has my respect and admiration for his service to all of us in Korea. My mother, a WWII Army nurse in the South Pacific passed in May of 2009. I have great respect for all of our veterans. Dean |

| | Scott, My condolences to you and your entire family. I'm sorry for your loss and thanks for your dad's service. I had a very good friend (Korean War Vet, Frozen Chosin) who inspired me to join and those guys were a special breed! I miss him very much, he gave me his Colt Combat Commander model .45 on his death bed... He was my brother-in-law's father. So I do feel for you. Semper Fidelis, Greg |
