Forum Members,
Where is the best place to attach a voltage regular on a 2N? Want a place that is accessible. Any thoughts are welcome.
Another question, do tire chains come in different lengths? Had a set that fit 12.something X 28 tires on my 2N. Gave them away and had another set that came up short. I have another set and want to know to know what length the connecting chains have to be. Reason for the question is the chains are here in central Minnesota and 2N in NE Minnesota. Any help is appreciated.

Quoting Removed, click Modern View to seeIf it were my 9N/2N, I would mount it exactly where the first 12,500 9Ns had their voltage regulator mounted. Your newer style VR will have different mounting hole pattern than the 9N10505 VR had & different than holes in tractor casting, but it would be real easy to make a simple adapter plate. Only consideration is whether or not there is adequate space where your cut out was mounted. Because the 1939 tractors did not have the safety starter switch located just below that & thus would have more space. You will need to verify adequate space.

Mr. T;

I hung my V/R, on the batt. plate, where the tool box is usually placed. Keeps it up under the hood, and out of the way, but with good access.

V/R....'blue colored box' in this pic.....:



Tool box went to the lft. rear fender.

Same charging system that you are using.....early 8N gen...with V/R, VRS. cutout!!

mount it to a flap hanging down from the hood by the dash..

or rig a bracket by the genny itself.. get the 2 workers together...
