Removing the hood is a 10 minute job. It's awkward to do it alone--I'm sure having a helper would make it much easier--but that's the only way I've ever done it. -Paul [Reply]  [No Email]

Make the harness or buy it; if you haven't ever made one, buying it is probably the easiest route for you. Just use the wiring diagrams JMOR posted here. Not hard to do at all. I made the harness myself. Like was said, some wire, some crimp connectors, some wire loom and some tie wraps. I didn't remove the hood to do it...no real reason to...there is lots of room to route wires along the underside. Just be sure to use the proper gauge wire. [Reply]  [No Email]
soundguy 10-31-2012 06:18:43 173.104.183.68 Report to Moderator	Re: rewire a 8n in reply to gblj, 10-30-2012 19:06:07   he's screwing you. you don't have to remove the hood. it takes about 15$ of wire and connectors. might take you an hour if you can't walk and have to crawl around and drag yourself with your hands, and have to crimp the connectors with your teeth or something. I typically can rewire an old for, especially one with no lamps in maybee 10 minutes if i'm distracted. less if in a hurry. handfull of connectors.. some blck tape and or wire loom ( or both ) and the crimp / cut tool. wire it point to point..then add tape and split or spiral looming hard to find an EASIER tractor to rewire than a old ford. just ain't too many wires. You can buy a harness, or make your own. Google "wiring diagrams by JMOR" He's done a great job of putting together some easy to read pictograms for this.
