I have read that Rustoleum smoke gray is very close to the original dark gray on my 9n. A previous owner painted it like an 8n. I have it apart now and want to paint it back to gray. If I paint the engine the rustoleum smoke gray. How will it last, on the engine due to the heat. Is there high temp dark gray engine paint?
Thank you
Preston

| I forgot to mention that photos of my 41' 9N are posted on this site in the tractor photo gallery. Tagged as 41' 9N Bill A. TN. Have a look, picture is worth a thousand words. |

| We used it on our 2N...liked the color although it may have been just a tad too light, but we didn't use any hardner...it's pretty much faded to just a primer looking color now, even with waxings...I will not use it again when I redo it, and if I were to use it again I would sock the hardner to it. |

| Will the smoke gray rustoleum give it a gloss look with out a clear coat? How about fuel resistance? |

If you have bare metal, for sure.
Rustoleum paint over Rustoleum primer. |

| | The only area on the engine that requires a high-temp paint is the manifold. I don't paint my manifold, but a lot of guys use a high-temp black. Colin, MN |
