I also want to use a box blade to do landscaping. What size (width) will a 2N in good shape handle? Will the hydraulics in a 2N be steady enough to do some decent leveling?
Thanks for your responces |

| | For height control get a Zane Thang for your 2N. It takes a steady hand on the depth control even with a Zane Thang, but you will have fun learning how to feather the soil out. It is all about seat time... Use stabilizers arms for stability and strength too. Adjust your top link arm length to rock the blade attack angle. Most box scrapers work in reverse, too, pushing the soil around that way will put a kink in your neck! |

| | 5' box on a decent 2n.. and remember.. hyds are power up, gravity down. there is no downpressure. to 'dig' or 'dig in' with a ground engagement implement you adjust it's angle of attack sothat it sucks intothe ground.. like a plow.. etc.. as you drive forward.. the blade cuts in and tries to go down.. but you controll it with your draft sensing hitc as to how much resistance it meets / digs vs raising it.. |
