I went to an auction over the weekend and when I got there, they had a tranny out of an 8N with the sherman (don"t know which type) that hadn"t been listed in the sale bill. The auctioneer nor the family knew anything about it; history, condition, etc. Well I thought about bidding on it, but they began selling it before I had a chance to look it over so I didn"t know the condition of it, or even what to look for for that matter but I was seriously considering making the purchase simply for the fact that if I could get it cheap enough, it would still be well worth it even if it needed some work. Auctioneer started it at $20...no takers; he dropped down to $10 and two fellas jumped in and went to town. The way they were bidding, I was pretty confident it was going to go for more than I was willing to pay, so I sat back and watched 'er sell for $32.50. I was kicking myself all day for letting it go and not bidding...oh well, thats how it goes I guess, nobody"s fault but my own, huh. [Reply]   [No Email]

I let a loader that fit a Farmall cub go by me. It sold for a great big price of $7 but at the same auction I did buy a manure spreader for $5 [Reply]  [No Email]
