AS I posted before I'm getting another 8N the 1st of Oct. Literally from the "jaws of death". Wife's cousin is married to a guy who runs a scrapping business. He loves tractors and hates to crush them and told me he had gotten n 8N with a cracked block. He's a good guy who sold me another tractor for what he paid (I was there at the auction and he was bidding against me, for which he was truley sorry...now if he sees me at an auction he ask what I'm going to bid on and will not bid on that item). I'm the only guy he konws with and 8N so he called and told me what he has it and I can have it for what he paid. Cheap. Was going to be a parts tractor for me. Plan was to pull the cover, rebuid the lift cylender then install it on a running N, then do that cover and get both where they should be. Then my SIL reared his very ugly head and said he'd like to do a tractor for the grand dughters (5-5 and 9). Paint it pink. I too posted about that here thinking everyone whould have a good laugh about that "silly" idea.

Well now the SIL's head was already big, and you guys thinnking it's a good idea WOW......now I'm planning to pull the engine and take it in. See if they can repair the block. If not then I gotta find a rebuildable block.......so you guys helped get me where I'm at (wife is laughing, daughter is laughing, other daughter is laughfing......anyone in the MN, east SD or ND area got a block to sell?????

So the new plan cause you all think it's agood idea (SIL's head was already big....)is too get the lift cylenders done then to fix the broke block one up and paint it with pink where the RED should be!!!!! OH FER SHAME!

Rick

Jon as soon as I know more about the engine I'll give you a shout. Gotta get it home and take a better look at it.

I may have a rebuildable block for you. I know two corners are knocked off the oil pan but the block should be reuildable.

I am north of Brainerd about an hour.
