I'm picking up a parts tracctor the first. My plan was to pull the top cover and rebuild the hydraulics, put the rebuilt stuff into one of my running N's then rebuild that and put it in the other N. Now my SIL wants to fix the parts tractor for his daughter and paint it pink.....so should I let him have the parts tractor? Or kick him dead in the butt for even thinking of this?

Looks like I showed up a little too late to cast a meaningful vote, but I think you should do it. Just get the SIL drive the pink N in the local parade every year. That'll keep him in touch with his feminine side ;-)

Colin, now that's a great idea!

When I made the original post I thought that everyone would get a good laugh out of it. Then figured I'd have to do it on the QT. Now when I get a start on it I'm going to have to make photo record of it and post it here.

Pink tractors for cancer awareness are not that uncommon. A guy around here has a pink JD B. Many cancer survivors in the area have signed their names on it.

Also there was a pink Farmall on TV a couple weeks ago that was at the Minnesota State Fair.

I like the pink/gray idea. I'm not a fan of a tractor in pink, but might look kinda neat if the red was replaced with pink. The all pink ones look like they fell into a bucket of paint. The WRONG color paint. If it will get the kids into, do it.

You got that right SG!

I had seen pictures of this one on the internet, so I went and looked it up again.

Its from a show in North Texas, so it may be the same one Don TX was talking about.

Ribbon on the hood.

Old I feel for ya man. Being close enough to see half the grand kids often and the other 2-3 times a year is a treat. Don't know what I'd do if they were further away.

Last summer I did see them all but only for a few days. Due to the kids allergies only 2 got to come to the farm but those two played on the tractor in the pictures. It is the same tractor I played on when I was a kid. My grand father got it around 1940 and now I have it. 5 generation one this one tractor and I have the original owners manual for it to boot. In the picture that is the son driving it in a show.

What I was thinking was do my rebuilds like I had planned and then rebuild the pump and lift cylinder from the last one for the pink tractor. Then find out if the engine is repairable (cracked block) or if I'm going to have to find a new block for it. The tractor is complete, tin is ruff but that can be replaced or repaired. Then all it would need is tires. If I'm putting up the tractor is will be for all 3 of my grandaughters!
