(IL), 09-10-2012 22:48:48   We have 140,000 miles on our Company's 2001 2.7 Intrepid. The ONLY engineering fault.........They should have put an inspection hole in the INTAKE MANIFOLD....2 inch hole with plastic plug. When ever we need to do a water pump job, I will make this modification. The tensioner has "wear lines" that are inscribed on the tensioner shaft. When the tensioner has reached the critical mark, time for timing chain and guides. So, so far, the water pump has not started weaping out the drip hole. Mobile 1 synthetic oil. 3000 mile oil and OEM filter changes. Then I strain the oil and use in my E-150 Service Van for another 3000 miles. Insides of both engines are spotless! Now we get moisture accumulation inside the light. This will cause corrosion on the light sockets, eventually. Chrysler wants $500.00 for a new headlight assembly. So, next inspection, I will dry out the light assembly and make the normal repairs that we do on LANDING LIGHT lens on aircraft. John,PA [Reply]  [No Email]
