Guys, manual at the farm along with 2N front mount. Just before leaving, noticed that the rear bolt to the braket where the three point goes into the trans casing was sheared off. Need to get an ez out but don't know what size to get. Could some one look in their manual and tell me what size bolt that is, I'd be appreciative.Thanks. |

GEEZE....what a Duffas I am.........FRONT?/BACK?....can't tell which is which this morning.
The rear Stud is what he is talking about.!!!!
That would be the plate stud.....NOT the lower link support shaft.!!!!!!!
Guess it all depends on how much coffee I had this morning, as to be alert enough to answer ??'s.!!!! :shock:
Sorry bout that guy's!!!
Rear stud size........7/16"- 14-20 x 1.75 .....right out of the book, so I know that's right, and I did not get it bas-ackwards, this time!!!

| Carlson, I don't recommend using the stardard "ez-out",especially on possible frozen bolts, based on years of experience of assembling "E W Bliss presses". They break off and then you have problems removing the "ez- out". I recommend using the "tapered 3 corner extractor, that is pounded into drilled hole in the remaining stud, and the turned.out. Being "tapered" the size "fits all". Basically they are :'small, medium, large" Here is what the specialist say http://www.brokentap.com/easy-outs.html.I could take a picture but you may have just as good luck to research on web, or talk with an auto parts specialist. TC;
If you are talking about the Lift bar support shaft, (where the lift bar slides onto the shaft at the diffy)......I got some bad news for you!!! An "easyout", is NOT gonna help ya.
9/2N part#9N583,...yrs 39-47..."Shaft, lower link support), goes through the side/bottom of the diffy, and is held in place from the INSIDE, with a casle nut and cotter pin.!!!
The rear axle shaft assembly, has to come away from the diffy, so you can get to that castle nut and cotter pin!!!
Since YT does not want, any info. posted that is in any manuals, a pic. of that area is not avail.!!!
UNLESS....You can email me and I'll send ya the pic., from the FO-4, in a reply!!!!

| pconnie;
I just take it, like he told it.......he did say rear 'bolt' for the three point hitch.
Like you say the front is NOT a bolt....it is a "STUD", threded on both ends, and holds the plate and gasket to the diffy, via a castle nut, and cotter pin, from the outside?????
