I have a 1948 8n with front distributor converted to 12 volts. I would like to adapt a proof meter to this tractor. Will a governor off a later model 8N with the speed shaft adapter interchange with my existing governor and will the sheet metal that holds the instruments interchage with my current sheet metal ? Thank you in advance for any help that is offered. |

| Farmerhr........well yeah, you can adapt the later (1950) sidemount governor cup to feed the dash-board mounted "proof-meter". (ie....proof of performance) Me? I'd squander $25 (cheap) for a dashboard mounted liquid crystal tachometer that couples the sparkie off'n #4 cylinder. You doubt? Check out Northern Hydraulics ...or... yer local commercial lawnmower supply store. Just sticky-back the 1x2" LCD display to yer dashboard above yer oilpressure gauge. Simple, eh? .........tacho Dell |

| Gov will exchange. Sheet metal will depend on what steering box you have. |

| Check John Smith's web site to see if you have the early or late steering. |
