was discing pasture before we get the 6-9 inches of rain from "isaac" we are supposed to get this weekend in central illinois in hopes of smoothong it some so grandkids can run their 4 wheelers without getting bounced off! started spitting and sputtering, then would only run with choke fully closed an made a strange noise! I was able to get disc off and get tractor in barn, but it buck and sputtered all the way. thinking about running carb cleaner through it? |

Glad ya got it running again.!!
If that happens again....check your fuel tank for rust! That prob. where the debris, came from!!!

Tom;
While you MAY find that the elbow screen is clogged,....you might also check to make sure that the two little drain passages, in the bottom of the bowl are not plugged up.
If that is the case, then I would suspect that rust, or debris has gotten into the pasasages of the carb.!!!
That will tell you that at the very least, the carb will be needing a really good clean-out!!!
Post yer results!!???

Tom;
Shut off the fuel....take the fuel line off the ebow screen....remove the elbow screen and clean it out with PB Blaster and air.......
Reinstall everything and you should find the gas will now flow through the carb drain.
Trickling gas out of the carb bowl, don't get it runnin'!!!!

| | i bet the strange sound was a buzz or hum.. and it's the lil door onthe choke opening to allow some air in. ditto what dell said. check fuel level.. next check fuel line to carb.. see if it's providing fuel.. then see if you got fuel thru carb and bowl drain. if you got fuel one palce and not another.. whatever's in between is the problem... post back |

| That could be a number of different problems. I would first check that you still have a good blue/white spark that jumps a 1/4 inch gap or more. Then check for a good fuel flow out the carb drain plug and let it flow for a couple minutes to make sure it is not full of water or dirt etc. You also might try removing the fuel cap and see if maybe it has a clogged vent causing it to starve for fuel. Also once cool does it run just fine then after good and warm start having problems?? If yes then run it till the problem starts and then check all that I said |
