Delawar Bill 08-29-2012 17:56:14 173.25.163.52 Report to Moderator	I posted earlier about stopping the oil leak around the lower link shaft and was told that I need to remove the trumpet. In studying the manual, it appears that I can remove the trumpet without dismantling the assembly (brakes, hub, etc.). Is that correct? Sorry if I am asking dumb questions. [Reply]   [No Email]

Plan accordingly. Also, when you pull one side the rest of the tractor will become unbalanced if it's all up on jacks. Make sure the side you're not pulling is well supported.   [Reply]  [No Email]

TB in MN 08-29-2012 18:56:24 71.51.150.138 Report to Moderator	Re: Trumpet Removal in reply to Delawar Bill, 08-29-2012 17:56:14   If it is a 9N or 2N I know the brakes and axle can come off with the trumpet as one piece but it will be heavy. Alining the axle splines in the differential during reassembly while handling the trumpet may or may not be a challenge. I cant speak for an 8N.   [Reply]  [No Email]

I think -if memory serves- if you remove the LEFT trumpet (and the diff-heavy, but maneagable(sp) you can access BOTH pins (good Idea to 'do' both) HTH   [Reply]  [No Email]
