I picked up an 8n 1949 with lots of free play in the steering. Is there an easy fix for this? Tie rods are good. |

| The manual is with the tractor 40 miles away. OI was looking for an adjustment of the worm gear. I dont have worn bearings. It definately in the steering box I guess I can go buy another manual or try on this forum again |

| | easy is a relative term. go thru all steering components from wheel bearings to steering wheel ... the bix is rebuildable. later boxes are better IMHO.. but older boxes are still rebuildable.. start by getting a service manual... |

| Jack up the front end check the bearings in the spindle post where wheels pivot and front wheel bearings I know there is some adjustment on the 8N but let some one more familiar get you up too speed on that part |
