I think I may need to replace resistor on tractor 8N 6 volt - there are a couple of parts showing on the napa web site two show 1.35 ohm resistance and one 0.35 ohm (part No Ech 1cr11 and ech 1cr40)
Which if any of the two resistance do I need for my system.
Thank you

| Well, I bought that resistor from this site and it is wired up as per the wiring diagram I have - might not look pretty but think it is correctly wired up - please let me know if it is wrong resistor or incorrectly wired.
Thanks,

| | Lee.........what makes you think you need to change yer weird 4-nipple dizzy's "infamous ballast resistor"??? Resistor is like a light bulb, it either works or it don't (burned out!!) Iff'n you gottza sparkies, guess what??? Yer resistor is working. The specs fer the "infamous ballast resistor" is 0.7-ohms COLD. It is impossible to measure when hot, but FYI it is about 2.5-ohms. As to yer NAPA resistor, 0.35-ohm is in the ballpark. Why don't you buy the real ballast resistor from this site??? ........Dell, retired electronics engine and self-appointed sparkie-meister |

| | We're going to need a bit more info. Front or side distributor? Are you asking about the OEM ballast resistor on a front distributor, or adding an additional resistor to allow you to use a 6v coil on a 12v conversion? |
