The ag tires on my 2N are in pretty rough shape. Since I use the tractor almost exclusively for mowing, I"ve got a pair of new turf tires on six-loop rims coming. Just how hard are these things to change anyway? Any advice on making it easier? |

| | crib well and block one rear while working on the other.. use a suitable bottle jack and wood planks so you can adjust the axle up or down in small increments.. get the old rim ov and roleld out of theway.. lean against a tree or someting. get the new once close and lean it in.. adjust jack to get one top bolt lined up.. get a nut on it.. it's gravy from there.. jack up a lil more and put in another as you rotate. if something starts to get away from you.. jump back and let it go! |

| ive changed mine, [rims off the centers] in about 1 hour, but i cheat, and my tires arnt loaded, first i get a large truck strap and pick up the rear of the ford with the loader tractor until its about 2 inches off the ground on both sides, then hit the 6 lug bolts with the air wrench, drop the rims off the centers and reverse them , fix them, narrow them or whatever, then using the tire bars i use to dismount the tires on tractors or the semi with i raise them until i get 1 bolt back in the hole rotate the wheel/ rim until i manage to get all 6 in then tighten them with the air wrench , then put the ford back on the ground, also i do not get under the tractor when its hanging from the loader bucket |

| To remove the rear loaded 12-4-28s on my 9N I wrap the tire with a 3 inch wide ratchet strap attach a celivis hook and use the engine hoist to lift them off. Put both rear axels on jack stands lift rear tires about an inch off the ground when all lugs nuts are removed hit the bottom of the tire with a sledge hammer and they pop right off the jack stand keeps them from falling over. To replace the tire I knock out one lug stud and use a 3foot drift pin thru the rim into the lug hole rotate the rear axle as needed untill they all line up. I you are asking about changeling the tires off the rim the hardest part is breaking the bead of the tire loose I have used one of my deep throated wood clamps before but I have never done a tractor tire. |

| Unmounting the ag tires comes later. The rims are hat rims so I want to see what kind of condition they are in. That part is lower priority right now, but thanks for the advice. |

| I have loop rims on my 2n with loaded ag tires and have had them on and off by my self several times. Get 1 bolt and nut on loose then spin the tire and center to line the rest up 1 at a time. |
