What"s the lbs/ft torque for mani to motor on 43 2N please? I found spec of 40-50 lbs/ft for the 52-64 on the Old Ford Tractor site.
I"d really hate to mess up this new unseasoned mani right off the bat.
Any suggestions for seasoning it as I already know momma would have a fit if I did it in the oven ~grins~ (all tho there is a gas grill outside mwhahaha)

Fastener torque is used as an indirect measure of the clamping force (tension) you are generating in the fastener. The higher the torque the greater the tension. When you install studs in a block you are generating ZERO tension in the studs so torque is a meaningless concept. Run them in up against the shoulder finger tight. When you install nuts on the other end of the studs and tighten them down against the manifold you are now generating a clamping force (tension) in the studs and nuts. The amount of torque you apply determines the amount of tension (clamping force) holding the manifold to the block. For 7/16-20 brass nuts on steel studs 20-25 lb-ft is probably a good number. Much higher and you will strip the threads out of the nuts.
