They want about 25% more than I paid for my 8N! What is a reasonable price for this setup? $500??

I wouldn't put that on an 8N or any Ford with an AG 3 piece front axel. Talk about abuse. Not only on the tractor but you as well (no power steering).

Price wise, he's not dreaming, he is on something, or hoping you are.....

IMHO - $5-700 "if" it all works, depending on condition.

No disagreement here. I know it was designed for that style of tractor. Trouble I have is, the tractor was not designed for that kind of load/loader. I couldn't count the number of stripped, broken, waller’d out bolt holes, welded axels, and trashed kingpins I have seen from that kind of abuse.

And I am just as guilty. I had a NAA setup with loader/backhoe for years. Proper counter balance and taking it easy might be ok but with a good load and unseen rut/hole you can do a lot of damage real fast (BTDT).

sure can.

I have that same laoder on an old 850.. have ruck tires on front. there's been plenty of welding on the front axle.. some by me.. some by the po. I had to torch out the old bushing.

I move large 1200# hay bales with it.. shock loads like holes are for sure a problem. mine will jump out of 3rd every now and then.. thogh I rarely use 3rd with loads.

I have a buddy with an 850 with similar loader and he just sheared off an axle. put in a used one and is back going.

for sure them heavy loads hog out kingpins and bushings and wear front hubs and wheel bearings and axles. no argument. I repack and adjust my front wheel bearings yearly on that machine...

I have another 850 with a 711 loader and a woods 6500 hoe on the back. these machiens are tough.. but Iknow when you hang a loader or loader and hoe on them you are asking for it.. :)

I got a IH 2001 loader to fit my 1206 Farmall that I feed round bales with. 1000 dollars. My JBC tractor loader backhoe was 4500. Guy I know is selling a Koyker K5 loader, clean not bent, cracked or welded on with moth a bucket and bales spear for 3K. Yea I'd say a loader to fit one of these small Fords for 2K is a bit on the high side. I check the MN craigslist often and see loaders for N's in the 350-750 range all the time.

Nice walk thru unit ; but way too much money . I have a nice Dearborn all hydraulic loader I need to sell . But I'd sure need less money then that superior loader .My dreams have been altered due to wordly issues (health & cash flow) . Be sure you rebuild the front axle completely before installing your loader . God bless, Ken

I doubt that he will get more than $750 for it.

A good fully hydraulic loader costs every bit of $2K. That may be a but high but if everything is in excellent working condition with no welds or damage it's not unreasonable.
