Several people told me to prime the engine oil pump to get it to pump. Can I prime it be by pouring oil down through the governor where the oil line is fastened on? Or, how do I prime it? Thanks, basil |

| | Just before you are ready to start the engine, remove the 15/16 hex nut to the right of the water pump. This is where your oil gallery is for the valves/lifters is. Don't lose the little spring under the nut. Use an oil squirt can to put about a cup of 90w oil in here. Replace the spring & nut. Spin the engine over w/ the starter (key off) to check for oil pressure before you start the engine. |

| I put about a cup of 80 w. oil into the opening after I removed the spring and plunger. No luck in getting the pump primed. Also took the oil line tee off at the rear of the engine and poured some oil in there. Again no oil pressure. Does anyone make a zipper for the oil pan? Don"t know where to go next. Thanks, basil |

| | " Does anyone make a zipper for the oil pan? " That's would be my next stop. Pick-up tube would be the likely culprit. |
