bought a 9n awhile back took the battery out of it just after i got it but dont remember if it was positive ground or negative .it is now 12 volt with a alternator so i assume it is negative ground. RICK |

| Rick & others with the same question. Quick & dirty, takes less than 30 seconds- If placing the same battery back in the tractor with the same cables: Set the batt in place, do the bends in the cables naturally fall into position? Try hooking up ONE cable. Does it fit the post? The pos post is larger than the neg post. If the clamp is too small for the post, or seems way too loose, it is wrong. Remove that cable & give the other one the same test. As mentioned below, if an alternator, 99.9% neg ground. Haven't let the smoke out of one yet. Willie |

| If it has an alternator, chances are 99.9% it's negative ground. |
