Well the show is over but not the work, still have to remove implements and install the "working " implements. Unload and put stuff away.
We had a very successful show with more than 80 Ford or Fordson tractors. Some were there all 4 days others only one or two days. Several of the tractors were very special, the V12 was out of a 47 Mercury. We had 4 from the year 1939, Sn#665 to my #6854. Many very fine examples on great workmanship and enginering. To see more on some go to http://www.oldfordtractors.com/ilffca/index.html
.
I took a lot of photos and intend to put on photobucket soon and post here.
Thanks to all that came and all that will come next year, don't forget to bring the kids. later joe

I'm hoping Old-9 can help answer some of the questions, he seemed to know most of these folks pretty well.

I would agree, it was an 8N trike with maybe a 100 series single piece tripod?

I wish I could have spent some time talking to all of the owners, just not possible in one day!

BTW, I didn't even get pictures of all of Old-9's tractors. I think he and his wife had at least three or four there???

Great looking machines!

He had 4 there, 3 with implements. I did not make it to get pictures either. And that row crop 8N I think was front end from a 700 series, he also had a high crop that I think he made.

Thanks for posting!

I saw the trike & thought it was a 740, like mine....but something didn't look quite right. It's an N trike! Never seen or heard of one, so I'm guessing it was custom made. (?)

Royse, I grew up on a dairy in the town just north of Winamac. Drove through Winamac recently, hasn't changed much in 45 years. Lot of flat land.

A few years ago, I had the priveledge of meeting an AMISH clan leader. He asked me "if'n we were to relocate from PA, where would you recommend we go".

At the time, I just returned from a trip from Indiana, and I recommended they check=out Indiana.

Good craftsmen, good food, and people of their word.

John,PA
