Hi guys, I picked up some Izuzu wheels (6 lug/15") for the front of my '52 8N at the salvage yard. I took the old tires off these with my handy dandy harbor freight tire changer. Then I took one of the rims to the tractor and it would not fit on the lugs. Well durn! I took the drill and made the holes larger until the rim would slip onto the 6 lugs. The problem is that the hole in the center is not large enough to fit up onto the hub. The wheel would be riding on the lugs and not on the hub at all. Is there a way to remedy this or is it okay to leave it like this? I don't have a front end loader or anything to put more stress on the front. I just need to put some tires on the front that won't tear up the yard and get the red-head fuming at me. Thanks, gary. |

| | you'll ruin the lug studs and likely shear them, or at least mar them without the pilo center hole riding where it should. implement rims are super cheap as are used 16" truck tires that won't rut a yard. i think I paid 5$ each for a set of fronts for my laoder 850 tractor from a salvage yard a few weeks ago.. if you have the lug holes cut, I think I'd run a conical stone into them to make a nice pilot for the nuts, and for the center.. got a plasma cutter? really big hole saw? could torch it.. have seen it.. but you will need to be steady, and even so it's gonna look like a monster. dress it up, etc. if you had some sort of metal cutting say like a zip tool or a body saw or sawsall, you MIGHT get a better cut that way, then clean up with a die grinder and a metal cutting bur. in fact.. if you have a pointy bur, you could etch a hole carefully, then drill out in a few spots for a saw or air chissle, and dress it up.. likely look WAY better than torching. int he end you will have more $$ in labor making them fit than a salvage set of implement rims.. but.. you already into them.. so.... as said.. you already got the basket of lemons.. might as well start squeezing, adding sugar, water and ice... soundguy |

| So, the implement rims will already have the correct center hole? |

| Not all 6 lug rims are the same and yep you now know a Chev which is the same as those rim you have do not fit on a tractor. The tractor 6 lug rims are common as dirt and now days most companies use the same 6 lug rim on equipment and tractor fronts. By the way the 6 lug truck rims be it Toyota or Isuzu or Chev all fit each other other then maybe a brake drum.caliper problem |

| Arrgghh, everything has to be a different size/shape/width/length/sae/metric...etc. etc. After 56 years, I still haven't learned to live with it...lol |

| Ya I found out some 30 plus years ago that a Chev 6 hole rim would not fit on my Ford tractor and I also found that the 6 hole rim off a JD-14T baler would even though it was a 15 inch instead of the normal 16. So if you find a 6 hole rim made for farm stuff it will fit 99% of the stuff but if you find a 6 hole truck rim if only fits trucks |
