Cory;

rebuilt carb?......black sparkplugs? Who, rebuilt the carb?????????!!!

That said....: My guess is low spark to the plugs, OR a carb that has a "Air to Fuel, set-up problem!!! Could also be the floats, not set right.

Here is a couple of help-mates to check!!!!

Float setting:

Carb air/fuel set up:

How long has it been since your air cleaner was serviced?

My issue was similar with a '49 front mount. After you check plugs, points, etc. I ended up having to turn the gas on 1/4 turn! I know the float is probably mis-adjusted after a carb rebuild but this small change prevented me from taking the carb off another 15 times.

Cory........you do know ittza 2-bolt, 15-min job to remove yer weird 4-nipple frontmount dizzy and check/adjust yer points (0.015") on the kitchen table, don't you??? Remember to pull a clean $1-bill thru the closed points to polish the invisible corrosion away.

Just un-snapple yer capple and letter dangle. Installation is a reversal of the removal ...except... finger start yer 2-bolts and then install yer rotor and rotate yer OFF-SET dizzy drive tang to fit into yer camshaft OFF-SET drive slot. Now tighten yer 2-bolts and re-snapple yer capple. Simple, eh?

Ennytime you have "starting issues", replace yer FLOODED sparkies with new dry AutoLite 437's gapped 0.025". Don't throw yer FLOODED sparkies away, just clean'n'dry them, one-atta-time in HOT running engine and save'um fer the next time. (and there will be a next time)

And keep yer itchy-twitchy fingers off'n yer carb handy-dandy tweek'ums. And in this warm weather, keep yer fingers off'n the CHOKE knobby too. Up-draft carbs are eazy to flood when DPO don't follow Ford's starting procedure. (2-rumpas before quick pull and let loose) ........Dell, yer self-appointed sparkie-meister

Make sure the float level adjustment is correct.

Did you check for spark at the plugs? Also are you opening the gas shutoff more than 2 turns ?Stupid as it may sound (cause I have done it) is the key turned on,or is it even working. Try a jumper on the backside of the switch if un sure.
