Have a 12 conversion on my 2N. Got the kit from CNH. when I start the tractor I have to jumper wire from Batt to no. 1 on alt to get to charge. Reving up does not work. Any ideas what is going on here?

sounds like a standard 3 wire setup.

get a 194 trailer marker lamp.. run a wire from the coil side of the key switch to the lmap, then from the lamp to #1.

witgh key on and engine off, lamp will be lit. after engine is on and over 400 rpm or so, lamp should go out and charge will occur.
