After a 12 volt conversion what specific battery is best to get?

Beardie.......ennyone that fits. (grin) Size 22 or 35 fit. Amazingly enuff, the N-Ford MPC doesn't even list a size or voltage for the tractor. Just sez: 13-plate, domestic. We now know that it 6-volts, size 1A. ......Dell, the know-it-all

A 12 volt Group 22F may fit. I took the dimensions of my 6 volt battery and went to Wally World and picked out a 12 volt of the same size. I even took the hold down frame to make sure. You may need to put a little rubber insulation between the positive + terminal on the battery and the hold down frame. The post was a little to close to the metal frame, which is grounded.

Having said all that, you for sure want the highest CCA rating available in that given group size.

I've noticed that off-color bateries - like white and green - sure do stand out on a nicely restored N series. I favor black - when I can't get it, flat black paint or rattle can bed liner sure improves the battery parts that show . . .
