I will add that if you have variable voltage power supply, you can do some 'testing', but the reverse current kick out test is a bit more involved, but could also be done with the right supplies & meters. "The cutout relay unit 9N10505B used with 3 brush generators should be adjusted to a closing voltage of 6.5-7.25 volts.
