Amp-meters don't care what the voltage is. For a known load, think headlite bulb. For a known voltage, enny volts battery that matches the headlite volts specifications. In other words, DON'T use a 12v battery on a 6v headlite, or you will let the smoke out. And don't use a 6v battery on a 12v headlite. Understand the concept??? Yer loop amp-meter is 20-percent accurate, so iff'n you expect 10-amps, it could read 8-amps or 12-amps. As fer yer cut-out, they usually are replaced 'cuz the relay pivot points gitt worn and sticky. .....Dell [Reply]   [Send Email]

I was hoping that was the case. I have a good rectifier that does 6/12 volts and more than my share of spare tractor headlights around.
