None of you know but I have been being treated For colon cancer since July. ( doing very good with a good outlook). My new best friend is my Radialogy/ Oncology Nurse,Diane. I have been emailing her for a while, and just before Veterans Day as a sign off I told her to " thank a Vet" Here is her reply. " Hey Joe Just wanted to let you know that I took your advice and made a point of thanking all the patients today that are veterans. I cannot tell you the reaction I received. These men and often their wives were truly touched. It afforded them the opportunity to discuss their years of service, good and bad times, meeting their spouses etc. It felt great!!! So now I am thanking you for not only your service to our country but also for reminding me how important all you brave men and women have been to my life and freedoms. I salute you. Stay well my friend...good positive thoughts Hugs, Diane" Joe US Army very tired and retired |

| May a greater power have mercy and heal you. I to take every chance I get to thank a vet and it is a very humbling experience just to be in your presence,so I THANK YOU and all the others here. I tried in 1975 to join but was not accepted due to flat feet and bad knees. I am now doing everything I can since I retired to support our vets. I am the state coordinator for the Missing in America project. Our mission is to locate and identify and intern the unclaimed veterans and spouses remains that are sitting around in funeral homes. I just got legislation wrote to relieve the funeral homes of any liability if they are to intern these remains. I feel they served our country and need an honorable burial for their service at least. You would not believe how many veterans are out there sitting in basements or propping up shelves its criminal. sorry so long. God bless our vets and hope you get well. Larry Root www.miap.us |

I lost my right leg in Iraq three (3) years ago and sometimes it is very hard to even get out of bed in the morning, but working on my ol" 9N keeps me occupied and going. Again thank you for your service, and all the veterans viewing this post, thank you, and god bless. Get well soon, we are praying for you ! |
