My dad and I was able to get my grandfathers 8N today. We are going to restore it (hopefully) or at least try. I think it is a 1947 Model the Serial number is 8N7006. I will try to post some pictures later. I am sure I will be back asking questions. I have never worked on a 6 volt electrical system before. One good thing is the engine and pto is free and turning. |

| Take lots of photos of everything as it comes apart. It may be a long time before its all back together and when it comes time to put things together pictures are worth thier weight in gold. |

| | Kelvin........uh? 8N7006 is suspiciously like the 4-speed tranny casting part number, NOT the engine serial number weakly hand stamped on the leftside of the block just under the cylinder head gasket seam aft of the oilfilter canister. Yer work will be eazier iff'n you'll squander $25 (cheap) for the I&T FO-4 manual. ......Dell |
