I have a 52 8N. Engine has started quitting, no gas getting to carb. It will run ok if I put a lot of gas in tank,4 to 5 gallons but will sometimes starve with less. A few months ago it would run ok with a small amount of fuel in tank. I beleive tank filter is clogged because when it dies there is no fuel flow at carb. Could someone tell me how to clean/change this filter. Does the sediment bowl assy. just screw off? If so is the filter attached? I don't know what it looks like inside the tank. Any an all replies would be greatly appriciated. THANKS. |

| Hey Bob
I use a Kerosene Pump to siphon the gas out of the tank
( back) into a 5 Gallon plastic gas jug.
This way you save your gas.
Dell and JMOR took care of the rest of the Story.
Clean those Screens.
Then You should be Ready to Ride Again.
Post back let us Know. |

| Bob......unless you can DRAIN yer gastank EMPTY, (which is doubtful considering yer complaint) when you unscrew yer glass filter ASSEMBLY from the bottom of yer gastank, yer gonna have gas allover the place besides up yer armpit. (grin) Recommend you have a 1/4"-pipe (I think thats the size) PLUG handy to PLUG up yer gastank while you gitt'chur NEW gastank valve ready for insertion. (you can stop the gas with yer thumb for a short time leak) Many times the top cylindrical filter screen has "melted" and you won't find it ennywharr. ......cleanpitts Dell |
